Hi
Up to now I've only seen 2 (generic) representations/views of data in Openbravo:
- form representing one record,
- grid representing a collection of records.
I some cases people want to see data represented differently.
Some examples:
- a calendar representation of e.g. sales records,
- a map (like Google Maps) representing locations of customers,
- a 2D representation of a warehouse,
- a Gantt chart like interface for production planning,
- etc.
Hovering over a "record" in the representation could show a popup with some kernel data of the record.
Of course these representations should be interactive. Drag 'n drop, click 'n resize, ...
Examples:
- moving a product from one storage bin to another by dragging 'n dropping in the 2D representation of your warehouse,
- moving an order to another date in calendar representations,
- etc.
Every collection of data could have one or more alternative representations.
It should of course be possible for the community to create and plug in new representations easily into Openbravo. :-)
Does anyone think this is a concept worth further exploring?
Best regards
Frédéric
